SriSiam (an old word
that means "Good" or "Peaceful") is a Lampang
male elephant,10 years old in 2012. He is a rescued elephant. As a matter of
fact he was rescued along with his mother. They were both bought by a
couple and donated to the camp. He is a very progressive painter for his
age. His independent painting is very complex at times and never
boring. We hope to get some more of the traditional style in soon. Lately he
and his mahout have been doing a lot of flower paintings. Somchai is his
mahout and he is 31+ years old, he is married to Banyen and they have one child. With flower
paintings the mahout encourages the elephant while being careful not
to influence the final product. Sri Siam is very
adept at flowers and we rate him the best at that. The original elephant art on this page is performed on elephant dung
paper, just like the background of this page. This art has a form of
authentication visible and comes packed in an EDP tube. Colors
can vary a little due to many variables. The
size is approximately 21" x 30" and can be framed at that size or
smaller. We always recommend a professional do the framing for best
results. Be sure to visit the Hints & Tips
page to get all the best advice about mounting this art.

Wanalee was born at
the camp in Lampang on May 6, 1997. Her name means "Forest" or
"Queen of the Forest." Her name was given by the King's Sister Kalayani
Wattana. She is real sweet, cuddly, and liked by
tourists, getting along with all. Her mother is at the camp. She is considered
one of the best painters at the camp. She usually starts a stroke near the
top of the piece and will vary her strokes making each painting very
different. She seems to choose her compositions. Wanalee also enjoys
the honor of being a "Royal" elephant adopted by Princess Galayani of
the Royal family. Several of Wanalee's paintings hang in the homes of
Heads of State. Tiam "Nom" Chaikeaw is her mahout and he is 28 years old,
and is married
with two children. The original elephant art on this page is performed on
elephant dung paper, just like the background of this page and comes rolled in
an EDP tube.. All our paintings are stamped and many have an impressed logo on the front.
