Khankluay
is a male elephant at the Lampang elephant camp. He is 13 years
old. He is named after a famous elephant of King Naresuan who freed
Thailand from Burmese rule. His name also means "Banana Tree
Branch." He brings a fresh style to flower art. Each art piece comes with
a stamp of authenticity. The size of these paintings is
about 21" X 30" unframed and can be framed at or below this size. Colors can vary a little due to many variables. It will come rolled in a packing
tube/carrying case made of elephant dung paper with a braided handle. All
our art is certified with a stamp on the back and/or an impressed logo on the
front by Thai authorities
in Lampang. Be sure to visit the Hints & Tips
page to get all the best advice about mounting our art.

Prathida
(Prathida Juthanun/Prahtidha) is a female elephant named after one of the
Kings daughters. She was born here 24 October 1992 making her one
of a few "natives." She is very friendly and has been
adopted by Her Royal Highness Princess Galiyani and was named Prathida or
"Princess". Also, she has a big family here, as her mother
is here and her sister works here as the trainer of new mahouts.
Prathida is a favorite of many here at the center. She prefers
the forest to the river. Her mahout is Chinnakorn Pongsan
"John" who is about 35 years old. Prathida tends to paint vertically with long strokes that are full of
expression and is one of the few elephants that can put a sharper
"edge" on her lines. It is controlled chaos in some cases.
The original elephant art on this page is performed on elephant dung
paper, just like the background of this page. Colors can vary a
little due to many variables. The size is approximately 21" x
30" and can be framed at that size or smaller. All our art has authentication visible. It will come rolled in a
packing tube/carrying case made of elephant dung paper with a braided
handle. We always recommend a
professional do the framing for best results. (The
impressed TECC logo is not visible on these two paintings, but the stamp
is.)

Elephant fact: The "Traditional Art" of an
elephant is the closest thing to the expression of their real feelings and
talent.
